Install guide
Swapping in the F4i Saggy Ass Fix takes about an hour with basic hand tools.
Tools
- Jack or stand to take weight off the rear tire
- Ratchet with a 17mm socket and a 3" extension
- 14mm box-end wrench
- 8mm Allen wrench
- Bench vise and a short 3/4"–1" piece of pipe
- Small flat-head screwdriver and a rag
Steps
- Jack the bike under the header pipe so the rear tire is unloaded.
- Loosen the stock suspension link bolts (17mm socket and 14mm wrench).
- Loosen the bolts holding the stock arm. Brace one side with an 8mm Allen wrench and break the other side loose with the 17mm socket.
- Wiggle the swingarm up and down to work the bolts out, then remove the stock links. If the arm won't come out, loosen the two brackets it mounts to.
- On the stock arm, pop out the inner bushings and pry off the seals with a small screwdriver. Keep them.
- Press out the bearings in a vise: pipe on one side, the 17mm socket with the extension reversed on the other, so you push on as much of the bearing as possible.
- Seat one oil seal flush on the new link. Put a rag over the vise jaw to protect the finish, and press a bearing in until it meets the seal. Repeat for the other side.
- Reinstall in reverse order. The engraved letters A, L and S mark the Arm, Link and Shock positions.
- Torque all bolts to spec and test ride.
